Spanning 5 days, Los Angeles Fashion Week (LAFW) took place Tuesday October 8th, through Saturday October 12, at Peterson Automotive Museum. Friday marked the third day of the fashion show lineup which featured Coral Castillo, Adolfo Sanchez, Luooif Studio, and Farinaz Farzaneh. I had the privilege to attend Friday Oct 10th, and got to take a peek behind the scenes in the hair & makeup area. On my way backstage, I couldn’t help but notice all the cool features of the actual venue. In addition to historically significant mobiles, the museum is filled with notable entertainment industry vehicles. 😍A whole Batman room with cars, containing a life sized figurine, several comics, toys… and I digress.
Back to the fashion show, I grabbed a cocktail in the lounge and made my way to my seat. The first of two shows, Coral Castillo- J’adore! Loved the feminine, yet structured details. Castillo interestingly combines boho choices (ie crochet), with glam (ie silk + shiny finishes) evoking a vibe pushing the chic style in a sexy, edgy, subtly futuristic way #newnew.
Next up, Adolfo Sanchez. I really enjoyed the Vampire / sexy black +red / models wearing red contacts and tiny bit of “blood” dripping out their mouth to characterize his “Mordida Collection” theme (Mordida means ‘bite’ in Spanish). Sanchez’ collection combined gothic glam and brought out the fun.
